SEO (search engine optimisation) is the work of making a website show up when people search on Google. We teach it inside our Digital Marketing with AI course, where it gets about 30 hours across Weeks 3 to 5. You do not learn it from slides. You build a WordPress website, publish it, and work on its rankings yourself.
What SEO is, and why it matters
When someone in Kathmandu searches for a service, they usually click one of the first few results. SEO is the set of things that decides which pages those are. It covers three areas:
- Technical SEO: can Google find, read and load your pages quickly?
- Content: does your page answer the question the searcher actually asked?
- Trust: do other sites, reviews and real authors vouch for you?
Search is also changing. Google now shows AI Overviews, and many people ask ChatGPT or Perplexity instead of searching. Getting picked as the answer in those places is called AEO (answer engine optimisation) and GEO (generative engine optimisation). Our course covers both.
SEO matters for a business because the visits keep coming after the work is done. Ads stop the day you stop paying. A page that ranks keeps bringing people in.
What you learn, week by week
Weeks 1 and 2: the groundwork
In Week 1 you see how SEO fits beside ads, social, email and WhatsApp. You also research competitors with free tools such as Ahrefs, Ubersuggest and Screaming Frog, which show which searches a site ranks for and how it is built. In Week 2 you learn how search engines decide what to show: crawl, index, then rank. You learn what relevance and authority mean, and how AI Overviews changed the results page.
Week 3: keywords and measurement
- What makes a page crawlable and indexable, and why speed and structure matter for ranking
- Keyword research and search intent: the four intents, branded and non-branded keywords
- A first keyword-and-intent map built with free tools: Google Keyword Planner, Ahrefs Webmaster Tools, Bing Webmaster Tools and Search Console
- A measurement plan for what GA4, Google Tag Manager, Search Console and Microsoft Clarity will each track
- Your niche locked in, plus a domain and hosting ready for WordPress
Week 4: a live site and technical SEO
- WordPress installed, with Cloudflare in front for speed and security
- An SEO plugin (Yoast or Rank Math) for page titles, sitemaps and structured data
- Speed work: caching, image compression and Google's Core Web Vitals
- robots.txt, canonical tags (which version of a page counts) and schema for rich results
- A launch crawl with Screaming Frog, and HTTPS and redirects without losing rankings
- Your keyword map turned into a pillar and cluster plan, with on-page SEO: titles, headings, internal links, image text and clean URLs
- Two articles written with AI tools and published, each with a manual rewrite
Week 5: trust, local SEO and AI search
- EEAT: a real author, sources and first-hand experience, the trust signals Google rewards
- Earning links and brand mentions honestly through outreach, journalist placements and broken-link reclamation
- Google Business Profile end to end, consistent listings across directories, and a reviews plan
- YouTube SEO: titles, thumbnails and chapters
- AEO and GEO: question-led headings, short direct answers, FAQ schema, and a logged test of whether ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Overviews and Bing Copilot cite you
- A one-page monthly SEO dashboard in Looker Studio that a client can read
What you build and practise
The core of the training is your own site. By the end of Week 4 it is live, with tracking, a sitemap and your first articles. In Week 5 you work on trust, local search and AI search for that same site. If you pick an SEO-led final project, you launch it in Week 7 and report on its real data in Week 8. Final project options include an SEO-driven WordPress content site and local SEO for a Nepali small business.
If you want to try the basics on your own first, our guide on how to learn SEO step by step with free tools is a good place to start.
Who this suits
- Beginners who want to start in SEO or content work. No marketing background is needed.
- Freelancers who want to offer SEO to small businesses.
- Business owners who want their own site found on Google.
- Marketers who only know social media and want to add search.
You need a laptop with at least 4GB of RAM (8GB is better), Chrome and a stable internet connection. You set nothing up beforehand. We create the accounts, domain and hosting with you in class.
Taught inside the full course
SEO is not sold as a separate class. It sits inside the 8-week Digital Marketing with AI course, next to Meta ads, Google ads, email and measurement. That is on purpose. A client rarely wants SEO alone. They want more customers, and SEO is one part of that. Classes run Monday to Friday, 2 hours a day, with at most 10 students in the room in Old Baneshwor. If you live outside Kathmandu, you can join a live online seat.
Common questions
Can I learn only SEO without the rest of the course?
No. SEO is taught inside the Digital Marketing with AI course, where it takes about 30 hours across Weeks 3 to 5. The rest of the course covers ads, email and measurement, which most SEO work also touches.
Do I need my own website before joining?
No. You register a domain and set up hosting in Week 3, and your WordPress site goes live in Week 4. We do this with you in class.
Does the course cover SEO for ChatGPT and AI Overviews?
Yes. Week 2 explains how AI search decides what to show, and Week 5 covers AEO and GEO. You also run a logged test of whether AI tools cite your site.
Which SEO tools will I use?
Mostly free ones: Search Console, Google Keyword Planner, Ahrefs Webmaster Tools, Bing Webmaster Tools, GA4 and Screaming Frog. You also use Yoast or Rank Math inside WordPress, and Looker Studio for the report.
